Living With Chronic Pain
According to a recent report in the MMWR(Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report), more than one fifth of American adults with chronic joint symptoms have never seen a health care provider about their condition. The Centers for Disease Prevention and Control in a study found that an estimated 47.5 million people had joint pain on most days for at least one month during the past year. Limitation of activities due to the pain was prominent.
The bottom line being a tremendous number of us have chronic joint pain at least in one or more joints and a very large number are not seeing a doctor for evaluation or treatment.
