A recently concluded small study of patients with “tennis elbow” showed that a single botox injection reduced pain over a three month period in many patients.
Tennis elbow is also known medically as lateral epicondylitis.
This condition is a real problem to most orthopaedic surgeons who care for this condition in their offices. It is often very stubbornly resistant to treatment of any kind.
This is probably not the final or most ideal treatment of this condition, but anything that could help would be a welcome addition.
One problem that has been associated with the treatment, however, is some associated weakness in extension of the fingers after the treatment.
