Elbow Injury

A recent study of a large number of patients who have injured their arm in a slip and fall accident, has indicated that the inability to completely straighten the elbow has more than a 50% chance of fracture occurring in or around the elbow.

This study included 1,740 adults and children who had been injured.

The study indicated that if you have been injured and cannot fully straighten the elbow you should be examined. An x-ray should be taken because there is an extremely high probability that a fracture has occurred somewhere in or near the elbow.

You should definitely not wait a few days to see if it gets better. You need to be examined and have an x-ray taken.
